Quality assurance

Departments are primary actors in the University's Quality Assurance System.
As part of Quality Assurance processes, each Department prepares the Annual Report (RA-Dip) consisting of:

  • The Departmental Development Plan: strategic planning document of the Department, drawn up in consistency with the University Strategic Plan, on a three-year basis with annual updates, integrated with teaching and research staff planning and the financial budget.
  • The Annual Monitoring and Review Report: document analyzing and self-assessing the main activities and results achieved in the reference year across teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and resource management.
The preparation of the above documents takes place according to formats, procedures, and timelines defined by specific acts and circulars of the University of Florence, in compliance with the requirements set by ANVUR and the University's QA System.
The main actors involved in the Department's QA processes are the Department Head, the Department Board, the Steering and Self-Assessment Committee (CIA), and any delegates for specific matters.

For the implementation of QA processes for Degree Programs and PhD Programs, the Department also relies on the work of the Degree Program Bodies and the Schools in which they participate.
