Spin-offs
Spin-offs represent an excellent tool for enhancing research results from universities and transferring them to the industrial world through the creation of a new, innovative entrepreneurial venture based on a research background developed in an academic setting.
From the Unifi Spin-off Regulations: "The University of Florence, in accordance with the general principles of its Statute, promotes the transfer of knowledge acquired through institutional research activities by establishing companies or participating in companies established less than 5 years ago, as provided by current legislation, in any case aimed at the economic and entrepreneurial exploitation, in innovative contexts, of the University's research results and the development of new products and services."
The Department of Health Sciences recognizes university spin-offs as a priority tool for valorizing research results and transferring knowledge to the productive system and civil society. Through the creation of innovative enterprises based on scientific expertise developed in the academic field, the Department promotes the practical application of research activities, contributing to the advancement of technologies, clinical methodologies, and healthcare services.
Academic Spin-offs created within the DSS are:

The Department encourages entrepreneurial initiatives that integrate scientific research and innovation, with the goal of generating a positive impact on public health, biotechnological progress, and quality of life, while respecting its institutional mission and academic values.
